Crisis has continued to rock the Victor Bala-led People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba.

The latest in the internal wrangling is the decision by stakeholders of the party in Warwar, Sardauna local government to elect and replace ward official loyal to the state party chairman.

The state chairman had in April called for the inauguration of ward and local government executives in the affected local government a move that didn’t go down well with some party loyalists in the council area.

A faction led by Barr. Tafi Warwar and Buba Saidu conducted a fresh inauguration of its wards officials to replace the ones earlier inaugurated by the state chairman, describing it as a kangaroo exercise conducted devoid of party guidelines and lacking constitutional backing.

Some party stakeholders expressed worry at how the crisis is further tearing the party apart.
Daniel Peter who witnessed the inauguration said he is confused and wonder why a fresh inauguration was conducted, which according to him did not follow due process.

“We in Warwar have seen wonders today, we don’t know which one to even believe now, but from all indication, the PDP in Taraba is under a serious crisis that needs the intervention of officials from the national office else another party will take over the state,” he said.

He revealed that Saidu has been in opposition to his knowledge and never worked in the interest of the party. He is worried that the same person is now playing a key role in deciding what happens in the party.

“The crisis in Taraba PDP needs an urgent intervention because the prolonged unresolved Party internal squabbles Will expose the Party to a defeat and for a total take over by another party if care is not taken,” Daniel added.
