Hon. Abdulrazaak Namdas, the frontline governorship aspirant of the All Progressives in Adamawa state has asked the leadership of the party to trust him with the governorship ticket for the 2023 general elections.

Namdas who addressed party officials during a meeting at the state party secretariat, Thursday promise to deliver the state to the party come 2023 election if given the mandate, noting that as a grassroot mobilizer, he will galvanize support from within APC and outside the party to ensure victory of the party come 2023.

The lawmaker who said APC is the only visible political party in Adamawa State noted that other political parties in the state have fizzled out.

Namdas who thanked the APC exco for extending olive branch to him said he was in the party secretariat to meet with the exco for the second time and to seek their blessings and permission as he embarked on local government tour of the state to campaign for votes ahead of the party primaries.

He congratulated the new exco also used the opportunity to reiterate his ambition to rule the state in 2023.

“I want to officially congratulate you on your election and I want to use this opportunity to reiterate my resolve to rule the state. I first expressed that resolve on January 1, 2021 and since then we have solidified that resolve to the extent even those who thought we were not serious at first have now come to accept us as a potent force in the race.

“I’m here to also to seek your permission and blessings to move to the 21 local governments of the state to seek their support in order to realize this noble ambition to serve my state,” he said.

Also speaking separately, the chairman of the party, Ibrahim Bilal, the vice chairman of the party, Samaila Taddaus and secretary of the party, Dr. Raymond Chidama acknowledged the indefatigable contributions of Namdas towards building the party saying that he is one of the prominent promoters of the party in the state.

The trio who acknowledged the leadership qualities of Namdas all pledged to ensure that clean, free and fair party primaries are conducted for the party to regain its winning streak in the state.

Also speaking, a former gubernatorial candidate of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Eng. Markus Gundiri who picked Namdas as running mate in the build up to the 2011 guber election in the state vouched for the character of the aspirant saying that with Namdas as governor, Adamawa State will become Nigeria’s Eldorado.

Gundiri who described Namdas as a son, friend and associate said he has the knowledge, experience, wherewithal, exposure and the political will to bring solid development to Adamawa State.

He expressed regret that Adamawa State has been lagging behind compared to other states and urged the people to vote Namdas in order to restore the lost glory of the state.

Also speaking, the Director General Namdas campaign organization, Abdurrahman Shuaibu, the coordinator women for Namdas, Halima Hayatu and APC chieftain in the state Ibrahim Tahir all acknowledged Namdas’ the leadership qualities of Namdas saying he is the best among those aspiring to govern the state.

“Namdas more than any of the candidates has the knowledge, experience, exposure, and wherewithal to run the state effectively and efficiently. A vote for him is a vote for development and progress,” they noted.

They also appealed on the party to ensure free and fair primaries in order to restore the glory of the party saying that Namdas will remain in the party if he lost the election fair and square.

Namdas started his tour with Fufore and Yola South LGs asked APC officials
to support his ambition with a promise not to disappoint them if elected.
