Displaced persons who staged a peaceful protest against the Adamawa state deputy governor, Crowther Seth, have again mocked him, telling him to face his woes alone.

They counselled him to stop dragging the good name of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri into his predicament, as they categorically singled him (Seth) out and booed him last Monday, because of his personal relationship with an alleged violent criminal, Halilu S.Y.

Last Monday, displaced persons in Guyuk Local Government Area of the state, demonstrated in anger against Mr. Seth, accusing him of shielding one Halilu, whom they claimed was the mastermind of the recent communal clash that caused the destruction of lives and property.

The deputy governor, had reacted to the protest by blaming the media and some individuals in the state, for staging the demonstration to embarrass him and the Fintiri led administration.

However, in a counter reaction, the displaced persons, numbering over 3000, told Mr. Seth that the crisis has placed moral burden on him alone and not Governor Fintiri or his administration.

Spokesperson for the displaced persons, Athauma Kurgun, in a statement made available to Journalists, mocked a press release issued in defence of Mr. Seth, seeing no single person or entity appended signature on it.

He said, “a faceless group sought to defend Crowther Seth against the wrath of the Lunguda people, which he incurred due to his recklessness and evil association.

“The write up which clearly exposed the desperation of the Deputy Governor, fall short of addressing the main issue which clearly put the character and person of Seth to question.

“The issue that placed a moral burden on Crowther, which the writeup failed to address is the linkage of Chief Seth to the alleged mastermind of many heinous violent crimes in the area (a suspected cattle rustler, armed robber) in the person of Halilu SY.

“The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State through this faceless group only succeeded in revealing to the people of Guyuk and Adamawa state in general that he is not fit to hold that office alongside Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri whom we appreciate for pacifying us and promising to get to the root of the matter.

“We the Lunguda people find it disheartening that the faceless writers are wrongly trying to say that the protest is a slap on the Fintiri led Government, its not; the protest was solely against the Deputy Governor”, he said.
