The concerned people of Numan Federation expressed their disappointment over the unfortunate attack on the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Chief Crowther Seth on Monday 13th July, 2020 at the IDPs Camp in Guyuk Local Government Area.

The group made reference to it’s Unity Conference held on the 30th and 31st of December, 2019, where it unanimously adopt the Bwatiye, Lunguda, Mbula, Maya, Yandang, Waka, Chobo, Bille, Dera, Bwazza, Dijim as the indigenous people of Numan Federation.

In a statement issued on Friday, the group expressed worry over the attack on the Deputy Governor who is a bona fide citizen of the federation by some youths in Guyuk.

“In view of the foregoing, we wish to bring on record the carefully planned affront against the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Chief Crowther Seth (Nzeanzo Bachama) who is a bona fide citizen of the Federation. It must be known that the Deputy Governor had earlier visited Guyuk on two separate occasions in relation to the Waja-Lunguda clash without incidence, ” the statement reads.

They said that the outburst by the youths who carried placards to implicate the Deputy Governor in the Lunguda/Waja clashes was carefully scripted by pay masters and acted out by their puppets.

“This group is fully persuaded that the show of shame that was glaringly displayed in Guyuk cannot be entirely blamed on the Lunguda people who are highly responsible people that have worked tirelessly to galvanize the relationship amongst the tribes in Numan Federation. We are not unaware of the few bad eggs who want to use the situation to meet selfish political ends at the detriment of the entire people of Guyuk.”

They urge the elders and good people of Guyuk to disassociate themselves from what they described as disgraceful and divisive act while stressing that the act may be as a result of political envy and therefore urge governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to look inwards and investigate his cabinet and other political office holders.

They further stressed that “the unsavoury incident is a slap on the face of The Executive Governor, His cabinet and the entire peace loving people of Adamawa State.

“We want to state through this medium that we are appreciative of the efforts of The Executive Governor, H/E. RT. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his show of exemplary leadership in quelling the tension on the said day, and his many other efforts of intervening in crisis situations across the state to prevent escalation.”
