The presiding Bishop of the Upper Churches Worldwide, Bishop Peter Makanto, has donated a hundred-bed capacity hospital to the Adamawa state government to be used as isolation center for coronavirus suspected cases.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Humwashi Wonosikou, the Press Secretary to the Adamawa state governor.

The statement acknowledged the philanthropic gesture of the clergy and urged well-meaning individuals to emulate Bishop Makanto and donate to the Adamawa state COVID-19 Containment Fund, to help in the fight against the spread of the virus.

The statement, also explained that though Adamawa state has not recorded any confirmed case of the virus, the Fintiri-led government is, however, taking all necessary measures to ensure it remains this way, even as he assured that the state is working hard to ensure that there is no widespread in case there is any recorded case.
