The Adamawa State police command said it has arrested 238 suspected vandals and looters who were involved in the vandalizing and looting government and private properties.

Citizens in the state capital had Sunday and Monday morning went of a looting spree and vandalized both government and private properties carting away both food abs non food items.

Briefing newsmen in Yola, the Adamawa capital, the state commissioner of police Olugbenga Adeyanju disclosed that 35 tractors, 22 hand tractor how’s, 28 hand tractors, 12 tricycles, 9 vehicles and farm tools have been recovered from different parts of the state capital.

This follows an ultimatum by governor Ahmadu Fintiri for citizens to return non food items looted.

“The command in collaboration with sister security agencies has so far dealt decisively with all acts of lawlessness.

“As I speak, we have 238 males and females suspects. (184) apprehended for breaking/looting government, private and corporate warehouses in the state while (54) were arrested for violating the state government curfew,” he said.

Adeyanju added that 12 tricycles and 9 vehicles were also confiscated while conveying looted properties.
