Adamawa Lockdown: Namdas Set The Pace, Distribute Food Stuff to Constituents

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas has distribute foodstuff to members of his constituency as the 14 days lockdown of the state continues.

The lawmaker happens to be the first to reach out to his constituents in the state in the midst of the prevailing global health challenge of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Namdas, who was represented by his senior legislative aid, Husseini Toungo, while delivering the items to the officials of the All Progressives Congress from Ganye, Jada, Toungo and Mayo-Belwa local governments, at his constituency office in Jada on Friday, said the gesture is part of measures taken to ameliorate the hardship his constituents are going through as a result of the lockdown of the state which affect businesses and other activities. “With the break down of the coronvirus globally which has affected individuals and even government revenue generation, we think it is ideal for us as the representatives of the people to at this particular period reach out to our constituents with such gesture. ” I know we are in the opposition in the state which makes it difficult for our party officials to get any sort of help from the state government, and that is why we have to play our parts and ensure that we help where necessary.

Adamawa state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ibrahim Bilal who led a delegation of the state executive members of the party to witness the distribution described Namdas as a true representative of the party and his people. Bilal said Namdas is one of the few lawmakers that have his people at heart and is always working tirelessly to ensure they benefit from the dividend of democracy. According to him, “if we have more representatives like Namdas at all levels, we will forget that we are in the opposition in the state. I recall clearly how Hon. Namdas facilitate the construction of the Mayo-Belwa to Toungo road, how he build and renovated schools, brought the then speaker Yakubu Doraga to the state and many other projects I cannot mention here. He is the kind of leader we need, ” Bilal said.

He further called on all elected representatives from the party to as a matter of urgency, emulate what Namdas has done. “I want to please call on all those elected under the platform of the APC to emulate this noble stride and ensure they reach out to their constituents in this daring times,” Bilal further stressed.

APC acting chairman of Ganye local government, Augustine Bernerd Bonokamen, said Namdas has clearly shown that he is a different politician who care for the welfare of his people. He said ” since this coronavirus pandemic began, there is no politician that has brought anything or even visit to see how his people are faring. The items i have seen here are commendable and it is a very big kudos to our lawmaker, Hon. Namdas and a plus to our great party, the All Progressives Congress.”

The party chairmen of the Mayo-Belwa, Jada and Toungo local governments and a women leader took turns to show appreciation for the help rendered to them at this period. They promise to continue to support all programmes of the lawmaker and ensure he succeed in his political drive.
