Adamawa State government has cancelled the traditional Christmas homage on his excellency governor Ahmadu Fintiri during Christmas celebration.

The state government also declared Friday and Monday 25th December 2020 and 1st January, 2021 as public holidays.

A statement by the chief of staff, Adamawa State government house Yola, Professor Maxwell Gidado said, “I’m directed to intimate you that this year’s Christmas homage on his Excellency the executive governor of Adamawa State Rt. Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri would not hold as usual and hence it is suspended.

” He further advised that all worship centers and general public should adhere strictly to COVID-19 protocols by washing their hands, use of sanitizers and keeping physical distance as much as possible.

” The governor has also approve Friday 25th December and Monday 1st January 2021 as public holiday and wishes the general public a merry Christmas and happy new year celebrations.”
