Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has Monday approved a special salary scale for Nigerian teachers in commemoration of World Teachers Day on Monday, October 5.

The minister of education, Adamu Adamu made the announcement on behalf of the president in a speech he read at the celebration of the 2020 World Teachers Day in Abuja.

The minister said the president has also increased the service years for teachers from 35 to 40 years.

Adamu said the implementation of the new salary scheme is to encourage teachers in delivering better services.
