Former Inspector General of Police Alhaji Gambo Jimeta has been laid to rest at the Gudu Cemetery in Nigeria’s federal capital Abuja.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was among dignitaries who witnessed the final prayers in honour of the late Police Chief at the National Mosque shortly after Juma’at prayers attended by former Vice President Namadi Sambo, serving and former Inspectors General of Police, former Governor’s Murtala Nyako and Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow among others.

At the Gudu Cemetery the Chief Imam of the Nigeria Police force headquarters, Dr CSP Alhassan Yakubu charged mourners to take solace and reflect on their ways reminding them that death is inevitable.

He advised them to make their ways right with Allah as nobody knows his or her own time.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri shortly on arrival in Abuja was at the family residence of the deceased to condole with the family.

He noted that though the death of a loved one is painful, they should see it as an act of Almighty Allah.

The Governor who was received at the residence by the younger brother of the deceased and former Minister of Internal Affairs Abdulrahman Abdua expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his show of love during their bereavement.
