The national leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has affirmed the election of Godwin Joseph as the tentative president of the youth wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Adamawa state chapter.

This confirmation is expected to put to rest the lingering crisis bedevilling the body.

The National secretary of CAN, Barr Daramola Bade in a press statement made available to newsmen on Saturday disclosed that the Adamawa YOWICAN election conducted on the 14th December, 2019 where Godwin Joseph and other Executives emerged stands.

” We write to comment the CAN Executives for your prompt compliance to the recommendations of the National Executives committee of Christian Association of Nigeria, NEC Of CAN 23rd October, 2019, the cancellation of the 18th May, 2019 YOWICAN elections and recommendations of fresh elections,” the statement reads.

The CAN secretary however said that the National leadership were adequately informed of the 28th October, 2019 state Exco meeting and 25th November, 2019 expanded Exco meeting which included the Bloc leaders as the stakeholders, where the NEC decision was adopted and upheld unanimously and 14th December, 2019 was fixed for YOWICAN CAN election.

Bade, appreciates YOWICAN delegates who respectfully complied by participating in the fresh elections of 14th December, 2019, adding that, NEC took the painful decision following the crisis in Adamawa YOWICAN after gross violations of the election guidelines and procedures.

He also appealed to the aggrieved youths, most especially the Bloc leaders in the state to overlook their differences and support the new YOWICAN leadership led by Godwin Joseph in order to bring sanity in the Christendom.
