Frontline broadcast journalist, Hajara Aliyu, has emerged Channels Television Staff of the year for the year 2019.
Hajara’s award was announced by the Chairman/CEO of Channels Media Group Mr John Momoh during the Annual General Meeting attended by board members, management and staff of the company.
Miss Aliyu who is Channels Television’s head of Bureau in Bauchi State was recognized alongside two others as reward for outstanding performance and hardwork.
The “Chairman’s Award” is a yearly recognition reserved for the most outstanding staff of the company.
This is the first time a Channels TV bureau staff is clinching the enviable “Chairman’s Award”, according to Aliyu’s colleagues who have been showering encomiums on her.
An elated Hajara dedicates the award to her colleagues saying “I can’t take the credit alone; you have all supported, encouraged and motivated me in different ways. Some of you gave me invaluable inputs and I’m very grateful for everything. I’m not better than anybody, we all have our areas of strength but some times only one person will be recognized.”
Miss Aliyu’s professional reportage of the 2019 General elections, unique reporting style of events both within and outside the country as well as her outstanding performance as the pioneer news anchor of the Channels TV Hausa news on the digital platform, among other things, has earned her recognition among her colleagues and viewers across the country.
