Bangshika Ward has won the 2nd edition of Engr. Musa Nimrod U20 football championship in Hong Local Government Area.

The championship which is put together by Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) was sponsored by National patron Engr. Musa Nimrod.

Speaking to Journalists at the final match which took place at the sports complex of Adamawa State College of Education staff school had all the 12 wards in the local government participated, the technical director of YSFON, Mr. Abdulgaffar Agbola said the championship is meant to discover young stars that will make Nigeria a force to recon with in age grade sporting competitions 

Mr Agbola added that the Sponsor of the U20 inter local government football championship Engr. Musa Nimrod has made the Federation produced younger talents in various sporting engagement in the last few years.

The championship which started about a week ago  saw Bangshika winning the converted trophy after defeating Shangui ward in the final.

In his message, the Sponsor of the championship, Engr. Musa Nimrod who is the National patron of YSFON and also the President Nigeria Volleyball Federation commended the boys for the skills exhibited throughout the championship.

Represented by the Administrator Uba-Gaya development area, the Volleyball Federation President said sports is a catalyst that can bring development and Crime prevention in the society.

He stressed that when youths are engaged in sporting  activities they become useful to themselves and society.

Nimorod called on well meaning Nigerians to join hands with government to promote sports adding that sports is a money spinner that can change the fortunes of country.

Trophy, boots certificates and cash prizes were presented to the winner and all those who excel during the championship.
