The leadership of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Adamawa state chapter has extolled Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas, describing him as a true ambassador of the journalism profession in Nigeria.

State chairman of the union, comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan and some members of the state executive council who received a 3-horse power factory air conditioner donated to the council by Hon. Namdas said the lawmaker has proven to be a good leader and representative who do not forget where he came from.

While receiving the gift from the Personal Assistant to Hon. Namdas, comrade Dedan said the air conditioner will go a long way in ensuring that the atmosphere is conducive for work for every journalist.

“We are not surprised by this gesture but highly elated because we know what our own, Namdas can do. This is a true reflection that he has not forgotten where he came from. We are indeed grateful,” Dedan said.

He called on all politicians, especially those who were once journalists to look back and assist the union in whatever way they can.

“We have several journalists who have ventured into politics and other spheres of life and are doing very well for themselves. We are calling on them to emulate Hon. Namdas and support the union that molded them into becoming the men and women that they are now. There are so many things they can do to assist us no matter how little it is and we will surely be grateful for it. Namdas is a good example and we want all politicians to emulate him,” the chairman added.

He said the council wishes Namdas the best in his political career while urging him to continue with the good work he has been doing of ensuring a quality and effective representation of the people of Ganye, Jada, Toungo, and Mayo-Belwa.

Hon. Namdas who was represented by his P.A assured the NUJ council of his continuous support whenever he is called upon. He urged them to continue to ensure that professionalism take center stage in their endeavour.

Hon. Namdas was one time secretary of the Adamawa NUJ council before he was appointed to serve as the Chief Press Secretary to former Governor Boni Haruna.

He has since sojourned into politics and has been representing Gamye, Jada, Toungo and Mayo-Belwa federal constituency at the House of Representatives.

He is currently contesting for the APC governorship ticket for the 2023 general elections.
