A group of stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa state under the auspices of ‘Joint Stakeholders’ across the 21 local governments of the state have said the party has not made any plans to zone elective positions into the executive of the party.

This is coming on the heels of a media report that the party has planned to zone positions of the executive council as it prepares for the forth coming party strata congress.

The stakeholders who made the clarification ahead of the scheduled state party congress billed for October 16, 2021 urged the general public and party faithful to disregard the said reports as no such position was adopted by the party.

Spokesman of the group, Julius Kadala while addressing the press in Yola, Wednesday described the report as mere wishful thinking as it was orchestrated by an amorphous group.

“On behalf of a joint grassroot stakeholders across the 21 Local Government Areas of Adamawa State (hereinafter referred to as area under reference, we therefore want to set the record straight that the issue of zoning purportedly published by TG News is a worthless yellow paper orchestrated by an unknown group.

“Be that as it may, we are here today to express the mind of our party members that there was never a time we sat and agree to come out with the idea of zoning and that majority of our stakeholders disassociated themselves with.

” However, we call this conference to make our position clear beyond any element of doubt that the forthcoming state congress slated for 16 October, 2021 must reflect equal distribution of positions across the three senatorial zones and local governments respectively where each and every member will be satisfied with the modality we followed.

“Albeit to the foregoing, we call on the party supporters more especially our statutory delegates and state delegates to turn up en-masse on Saturday 16 October, 2021 to elect our state representatives through free and fair election.

” Similarly, we wish to congratulate all our elected party members from ward and local government congresses whose election were successfully concluded and we also wish and pray that the state congress coming up will be a hitch free election which will be accepted by all party members,” Kadala said.
