The Cross River State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists(NAWOJ), commends the state Governor, Ben Ayade for appointing one of its members as the Senior Special Assistant on Electronic Media.
The State Secretary of the Association, Comrade Imani Odey was recently appointed and subsequently elevated as a senior aide to the Governor.
The State Chairman of NAWOJ, Comrade Umo Basi-Edet said in a statement that the appointment is well deserved, while congratulating Mrs Odey for the feat.
“As a Professional Journalist, Imani has proven her mettle and has always distinguished herself in the discharge of her duty.” Basi-Edet stated.
The Association expresses confidence that the newly appointed S. S. A will bring her wealth of experience to bear in the Industrialization drive of the State Government.
Odey, a seasoned broadcast journalists has made fame as a professional telling unconventional human interest stories which include the “Money Woman” culture of the Becheve community which attracted outrage and interest of human rights activists.
