The death of Chief Timawus Mathias has continued to attract condolences from across the world, the latest is from Ambassador Kevin Peter, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Czech Republic.

“We’ve lost a father, a mentor and a shining Star”
These were the words of the Ambassador of Nigeria to Czech Republic, Ambassador Kevin Peter, while reacting to the death of Chief Timawus Mathias, one of Nigeria’s finest Broadcast Journalist.

Ambassador Kevin described the late veteran Journalist as a rare gem, a gift to our generation and a builder of men. We fondly refer to him as Uncle Tim based on the name he uses in his popular Television Program on NTA.

The few times i interacted with Uncle Tim were moments i will never forget, he was a bundle of wisdom and his knowledge of issues both locally and on the international scene are vast. He was a rare personality to be with. You cannot spend time with him and not take away a life changing experience or words on marble.

He was a bundle of talents, and has proven to be a honest and patriotic Nigerian. Adamawa State and indeed Nigeria at large will miss his immense contributions, his column on daily trust had always given a sincere, objective and honest perspective to National issues.

Ambassador Kevin added that, commentaries and perspectives from Uncle Tim are always a guide, little wonder then that every political leader in the State had consulted uncle Tim for advice at one time or the orther.

Ambassador Kevin, prayed God Almighty to give strength to late Chief Timawus’ wife Children and grand children to bear the irreparable loss, he also prayed for the repose of his soul.
