As part of efforts to reposition the Adamawa state Volleyball teams for better performance in competitions.

The Chairman  of the state Volleyball Association, DCP Stephen Hassol rtd.had donated sets of Jersey to the teams

The chairman, a retired senior police officer presented the jerseys to the Director of Sports at the the Sports Council.

He said ” haven’t been elected as the new chairman of the association in Adamawa, I feel the best way to start is to give this donation”.

” Volleyball is my passion, I have played the game from my days in secondary school and I played up till national level”

” I also as a police officer took both the male and female teams to Nigeria Volleyball National league, and they are still the teams to beat in the league”.

He added that has the new chairman of the association, he hope to encourage young boys and girls from the grassroots by sponsoring Volleyball competitions.

” I am optimistic that the game will bring gloy to the state”

The retired police officer charged the sports council to make good use of the sports equipment.

In her response while receiving the the jerseys and balls, the Director Adamawa state Sports Council, Mrs Esther Dominic thanked the donor for his kind gesture, stressing that it will go a long way in encouraging the players.

She called on other well meaning Adamawa indgienes to emulate the chairman adding that government alone can not develop sports but with supports like this, the state can perform greatly in sporting competitions.

The coaches of both the male and female teams, Mr. Echan Yohanna and Mrs. Felicia James thanked the chairman and promised to make best use of the items.

The chairman also extended similar gesture to a private Volleyball club, Spartan Volleyball club of Yola.
