In line with the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Economic and Fiscal Update, the budget envelope has N91b and N49b for recurrent and capital expenditures, representing 65% and 35% respectively. The Adamawa State Executive Council at its 10th 2022 meeting presided over by the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved a budget envelope of N140b for the 2023 fiscal year.

The Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Dr. Umar Garba Pella disclosed this to newsmen shortly after the council meeting held in the Council Chambers, Government House, Yola Wednesday.

He described the budget as realistic as according to him, the government is serious and committed to making sacrifices despite stringent resources by ensuring expenditures are matched with revenues.

The commissioner further revealed that the council had during the meeting approved a virement of over N20b representing 3.1% of the initial budget of N163.6b for 2022.

He added that after evaluation of the entire performance of the 2022 budget by the government and found that funds were exhausted in certain areas while others have a surplus, informed the decision of the Council for the virement within the envelope.

Dr. Garba Pella further disclosed that after deliberations, the council had also approved the construction of a 3.6km Bole road extension in the Yola South local government area at the cost of N1.9b.

According to the Information and Strategy Commissioner, the Council members have also approved contract variation for the construction of manpaya road in Uba town, Hong LGA at N1.3b.

He said the 2 road projects awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited and Mrs. City International Dimensions Nigeria Limited will be completed within the timeframe of 12 months.
