The Adamawa state police command said officers attached to Girei and Ganye divisions in conjunction with Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARs) have arrested a gang of seven that attacked and robbed three commercial motor cycle operators in Girei, Ganye and Mayo – Belwa local government areas of the state.

Police spokesman DSP Suleiman Nguroje in a statement made available to newsmen the arrested suspects inflicted injuries on their victims in the process of robbing the motorcyclists.

“Investigation reveals that the dare-devil armed robbers, Kabiru Muhammed, 23, Idris Salisu, 42, Friday Elkanai, 23 are members of hunters association and eventually betrayed the trust entrusted in them by members of the public.

” Similarly, on the 27/9/2020 following a credible information, the gallant men of the command attached to special Anti Robbery Squard (SARS) arrested Sadiq Abdullahi, 20, Awal Bakari, 23, Aminu Gidado, 23 and Aliyu Abubakar, 25 all residents of Mayo Belwa local government and recover two locally manufactured guns, four cutlasses, three knives, a set of military uniform and four pairs of dessert boots.

” The command while ensuring that the victims get proper medical attention and their stolen motor cycles, enjoins residents to report any suspicious persons around their neighbourhoods to the nearest police division or report same through any of the police command control/Emergency numbers;
