…Warns PDP Against Rigging

The National Vice Chairman North East of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Mustapha Salihu has warned the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state against rigging the local government election slated for tomorrow Saturday April 9, 2022.

Salihu at a press conference in Yola on Friday retested the resolve of his party to resist any attempt by the ruling party to doctor the election result to suit its parochial interest against the wishes of the people.

“I call on our supporters not to be discouraged because the rumour going round is that the government will write result or will not declare our candidate as winners where they win election.

“I want our people not to show lackadaisical attitude but to come out and vote. Let’s us see the government that will take our win if we win.

“I want to assure you that it is not going to be business as usual. We are not going back to allow anybody to take our win. We also implore our supporters to be law abiding and to go out and cast their votes. If there is any irregularity, let them document them,” he said.
Salihu who scored the APC government high especially in the area of tackling social insecurity noted that unlike before where the government showed significant lethargy towards resolving insecurity, the APC government is committed towards tackling the menace head on.

He urged the people to avail the government and the security personnel credible intelligence noting that for the menace to be addressed, people must dissipate great commitment.

Salihu noted that because of the will to fight insurgency, the people of Biu evolved community resilience and fought insurgency to a standstill calling on other communities to emulate Biu people and not to resort to blame games.
