Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas has Saturday launched his first campaign office in Ganye local government in preparations for the forthcoming 2023 elections.

Namdas is adjudged the front-runner for the APC governorship ticket in Adamawa state.

The federal lawmaker has since declared his intention on January 1, 2021, garnered support from party faithful both within and outside the state.

In a bit to strengthen his hold campaign, Namdas who is representing Ganye, Jada, Toungo, and Mayo-Belwa federal constituency has officially opened a campaign office in Ganye to cover the entire Adamawa southern senatorial zone.

The gubernatorial hopeful has expressed happiness over the unconditional support his aspiration is getting from the Adamawa people promising to serve them well if elected.

Namdas who made the revelation during the commissioning of Ganye zonal campaign office expressed optimism of flying the party’s ticket because of the massive support he is getting from all nooks and crannies of the state.

He noted that his aspiration has recorded significant mileage since he announced his drive to govern the state in January this year.

“In January this year, I told Adamawa people that I have the intention to contest for the governorship election.

” In line with that aspiration, I have to back my words with action, and today, I have commissioned an office in my constituency because this is where I’m having the majority of the support.

“They sent me to the national assembly on two occasions and I want to start from home as they say charity begins at home. It is a zonal office for the four LGs that I represent at the national assembly.

“I will also commission another one in Numan federation because the southern zone has about nine local governments five in Numan federation,” he said.

When asked why he remained one of the most visible governorship aspirants in the state, Namdas said he believed in the sanctity and power of the people in a democracy as such he accords them the respect they deserved.

Namdas noted that as someone who believed in the power of the people, he has been consulting with them and selling his aspiration adding that because of the gesture, the people have expressed unreserved support for his ambition.

“When you want to vie for public office, you can’t seat in Abuja and claim that you will get the thing by force. You need to meet the people, you need to convince the stakeholders to buy into your aspiration and show them you’re serious.

” These are the steps I decided to take right from the day I declared my intention to contest the governorship of Adamawa State in January this year.

” I have met with the people, I have talked to them and because we rely on the masses we have to follow them where they are. I cannot sit in the comfort of my room and expect people to endorse me,” he added.

The ancient town of Ganye was agog as a mini durbar was organized in the reception of Namdas while enthusiastic youths and women chanted solidarity songs in support of his aspiration.
