Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has extended warmest congratulations to Adamawa people and the Muslim Ummah on the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The governor made this known via a press statement signed by his Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

The governor said “May Almighty Allah bring it back to us and all humanity with goodness and blessings. May Allah protect Adamawa and its people.”

While expressing his sincere sentiments along with his best wishes of good health and peaceful Ramadan, Governor Fintiri also prayed Allah to bestow his blessings on all Muslims, wishing that it would be a month of security, peace and stability all over the world.

“I solemnly pray that Almighty Allah continues to bestow his blessings and mercy on our beloved State and Country.”

Fasting during the Holy Month is one of the five pillars of Islam and is mandatory for all Muslims who are in good health.

Rt.Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri noted that Prophet Mohammed used to spend generously on the poor and the needy during this period, and therefore urged Muslims to copy the good example.

He admonished Muslims to always remember those who are less privileged and reach out to them and also help the Government in confronting the challenges facing the nation.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who is grateful to Allah that Muslims are finally able to gather, and there are no strict restrictions this time like before noted that “The improving COVID situation has brought optimism as the Ramadan Holy Month is upon us as we commence the Ramadan fast. I enjoin Muslims to increase their love for humanity, acts of charity, Kindness and gratitude.”

Governor Fintiri who regretted that Nigeria has sadly witnessed the escalation of division and insecurity of recent, urged the people to endeavour to work together and bring an end to that.

“The Month of Ramadan is intended to teach Muslims how to live good and compassionate lives. It is a Month of sacrifice, abstinence and above all, love”. He said.

While urging for peace, love and unity amongst Nigerians, the ATM Governor advised that “Everyone must join hands to repair the fabric of love and oneness that bind the people together.

Nigerians must close ranks and refuse to accommodate the machinations of those who speak to profit from their pains or widen the lines of division.”

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri therefore prayed Allah to grant all Muslims the strength to successfully complete the fasting period.
