The police officer who allegedly shot dead a motorcycle operator in Maiha local government of Adamawa state has been sacked.

Corporal Richard Japheth had on June 1, 2020 allegedly shot and killed a 20-year-old tricyclist, Arabo Dauda for failing to give him N100 bribe in Maiha LGA

The state commissioner of police Olugbenga Adeyanju had ordered the arrest of the officer immediately after the incident.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje said the officer was later dismissed by the police from the service to face the law after he was indicted of committing the crime.

“Richard Japheth has been dismissed from service. He’s currently in detention and will be charged to court for culpable homicide.

“The policeman was dismissed on June 16 and the commissioner of police gave the approval,” Nguroje said.
