A widow, Hauwa Umaru who was abducted with her child at Ngurore during an attack on the community’s police station on Sunday has escaped from her abductors.

Adamawa state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje in a statement said the police in collaboration with vigilante group were on the heels of the kidnappers, and that gave room for the woman to escape safely with her baby.

“On the 11/10/2021 at about 2200hrs,
the command’s reinvigorated special action plan on the ongoing fight against Kidnapping, armed Robbery and other violent crimes across the state yielded another positive result as the kidnapped Ngurore widow (Hawwa Umaru and her child) escaped from captivity and were rescued by the police unharmed.

“The Command’s operatives and members of vigilantes gave hurt chase to the kidnappers haven noticed that they abandoned the victims to escaped as they ran to their lives .

“The Victims are now undergoing medical attention as the command’s frequent Operations aimed at preventing and dislodging Kidnappers from their current operational spaces and denying them space to regroup in other parts of the State will be sustain to ensuring the arrest of the kidnappers and their collaborators,” the statement reads.
