Coach Justine, a CAF ‘A’ license coach said he was happy to see the massive turnout of coaches both licensed and non-licensed as well as some schools’ games masters at the seminar.

He described coaching education as an important component of an effective professional development program that can build will, skill, knowledge and, the capacity of athletes.

“Coaching has been known to boost confidence, improve work performance and build effective communication skills with benefits that can be even more vast and specific to individual football teams.

“It is a key youth football development and the future of football itself, this, the wise coach develops not only the fullest physical potential in his players, but also the capacity, habits, and body which will enrich them in later years,” he said.

Coach Justine also added that the seminar is aimed at complementing government efforts in addressing some challenges affecting youths in the state.

“Considering the alarming growing crime rate, youth restiveness and the new trend in the area of irresponsible unacceptable and behaviors among the youths, it is our considered duty to among other things organize this seminar to complement government efforts in tackling such challenges,” he added.

While appealing for support from the government and stakeholders, Justine harps on the need for schools and age-grade teams and competitions to be introduced in all the local governments of the state. He also called on the government to provide the association with offices and vehicles to enable them effectively carry out their duties.

Participants at the seminar will be trained on the laws of the game, the relevance of small-side games in football coaching, the structure of training sessions, coach-media relations, and first-aid treatment in football.
