Former Adamawa state House of Assembly Member representing Yola South state constituency, Hon. Bappah Waziri, has declared interest to vie for the position of state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa state.
Waziri made his ambition public while addressing newsmen in Yola weekend stressing that the party is in a bad shape and needs someone with vast experience and competency to change the narrative for the better.
Waziri regretted that lack of respect for constitutional guidelines of the party and respect for the founding fathers of the party are affecting it negatively making it to lose grounds in the schemes of political activities in the state.
He observed that due to lack of internal democracy and impunity by the current party leadership in handling the affairs of the party it lost the governorship seat, two senatorial seats, four house of representative seats, and thirteen state Assembly seats during the 2019 elections.
He pledged that if elected, he will treat all members of the party justly, fairly and equally with a view to carrying all along in handling the affairs of the party.
He stated that his administration will make sure it used all possible legal ways of providing permanent party secretariat in the state urging the over three thousand delegates to rally round him to emerge victorious.
“I will erect a permanent structure for the party in terms of office accommodation at least a system secretariat so that the monies used in renting office accommodation can channel through other venture for development,” Waziri explained.
According to Waziri his administration will train and retrain the executive members intermittently so as to enhance efficiency and productivity of the executives of the party on trending issues as they unfold.
“I will give members a sense of belonging by engaging them in all party activities. I will also facilitate training and retraining of the party leadership on responsibilities of their offices and themselves as leaders and role models of the party.
“I am calling on those that are delegates to offer me that privilege of electing me, Hon. Ibrahim A. Bappah Waziri as their state chairman of our great party so that we rescue our party together,” Waziri solicited.
