Sokoto state chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, has called off it’s total boycott of all activities in relation to the state football team, Sokoto United Football Club immediately.

The decision was the outcome of a meeting and the intervention of the state Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Bashir Usman Gorau, at an emergency meeting held at the Director of Sports office in Giginya Memorial Stadium, Sokoto.

This was made known to newsmen by the secretary of the association, Usman Zubairu.

The meeting with the executive members of the association led by the Chairman, Comrade Kabiru Idris Gobirawa, amicably arrived at the resolution to forget the past grievances and continue with the existing cordial relationship between the Association and Sokoto United, and by extension, the ministry for the overall development of sporting activities in the state.

The Association, however assures the Ministry for Youth and Sports Development and Sports enthusiasts in Sokoto of it commitment in promoting sporting activities in Sokoto state
