A passionate appeal has been made on Kaduna state and Federal government to assist farmers whose farm lands have been washed by flooding.

The state Chairman Fadama Farmers association Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Wazirin Abakwa, made the plea in an interview with Journalists in kaduna.

He noted that as a result of flooding following the torrential rain most Farmers are faced with problem of devastation in their Farms.

According to him government should come to their aid by providing assistance to them in whatever way possible.

Alhaji Ahmad Wazirin Abakwa contended that farmers whose farm lands are close to the river banks suffered most as a result of the flooding.

He called on the Nigerian Agricultural insurance corporation NAIC to promptly provide assistance to Farmers victims of the flooding who registers with the organization to ease their hardship.

On the repayment of loans by farmers who secured the loan facility, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad decried that it was not encouraging as substantial number of such beneficiaries are adamant to pay back the money.

He said it is when they pay back the loan that other farmers would benefit from the package to boost their farming activities.

The State chairman of Fadama farmers association stressed that the agric loan defaulters have been given up to the end of this year within which to pay back the loans.

He encourage the state ministry of Agriculture to send it extension workers for possible assessment of farms ravaged by flooding for assistance.
