The Adamawa chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria *SWAN.* has expressed great shock and sadness over the attack by armed men on the Adamawa United football team.

In a statement signed by its Secretary Ephraim Okpanachi, SWAN noted with dismay the harrowing experience of the attack, which occurred late on Friday, just before midnight along the Benin- Ore road.

Specifically, the Association commends the State Government and relevant security agencies, for their efforts.

SWAN calls for acceleration of measures to ensure the release of the driver who was abducted in the attack.

SWAN also reiterates commitment to the development of sports and the State at large.
