The Adamawa State Police Command has said it busted a 16-man gang of criminals terrorising the state and environs.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje in a statement said the gang specialises in kidnapping and armed robbery in Adamawa and neighbouring states.

He said that the gang was arrested in an operation and six AK-47 rifles among other firearms, were recovered from them.

SP Nguroje said the operation was carried out by the police in collaboration local hunters.”

He added, “The suspects were nabbed in Mubi North, Gombi, and Fufore, among other local government areas.”

Nguroje assured that on completion of the investigation, the command will charge them to court for prosecution.

He extended the appreciation of the police commissioner, Afolabi Babatola to the officers of the command as well as local hunters.

He appealed for support to enable the command to continue to protect lives and property.
